Flashback trojan attacks 1 in 100 Macs

Trojan.jpg

A new piece of malware called Flashback is infecting Macs whose users visit infected webpages and are using vulnerable software. To protect yourself against the Flashback trojan, there are a few things you need to do.

1. Install, update, and run an anti-virus program. Oberlin College provides a license for Intego VirusBarrier which you can download for free from the CIT Downloads page. If you're already running VirusBarrier and have updated within the last month, you're already protected.

2. Run Apple's Software Update to install the Java patch issued on April 3rd. If you've updated since then, you're already protected.
