Installing Pharos Lab Printers on Macs
Installing the Popup Client
- Install the Pharos Popup application
- Download the file Popup.dmg.
- Double-click this file to create a new disk image in Finder. This disk contains the Popup installer, Popup.pkg .
- Double-click the installer to run it. You may have to authenticate yourself as an administrator. If so, click the lock icon and type in an administrator username and password.
- Select a destination volume (you will only be able to select the startup volume).
- Click <Install> (or <Upgrade>). The installer automatically installs the Popup application.
- Once the application is installed, it will open and ask you to enter in a server name. Enter pharos.oberlin.edu. All the numbers are correct, keep clicking next until it Finishes.
Installing Printers with the Lab Configuration Tool
- After installing Pharos Popup (see above), download the Lab Printer Configuration Tool.
- Double click the PrinterConf icon to launch it.
- Select the printers you would like to configure by clicking the check boxes next to each printer name in the main PrinterConf window.
- Click the "Configure Printers" button. PrinterConf will automatically configure the selected printers, then open a dialog window informing you that it is done.
- Click the "Quit" button of this dialog window to quit PrinterConf.
