Installing Novell Netware
Do not restart your computer until the directions specify that you should
1. First you need to download and install the Novell Netware Client
2. Open a web browser, and go to the following website: http://www.oberlin.edu/cit/downloads/win.html. (The CIT Downloads site requires authentication with an ObieID and password.)
3. Download the appropriate client (Student version or Staff version) to a known location on your computer (i.e. the desktop).
4. Expand the zip file you just downloaded, and note where you extract the files to. We recommend a folder on your desktop with the same name as the zip file.
5. Open "my computer" and navigate to the folder where you extracted the files.
6. Open the folder and run the "ACU" program.
7. When the installation is finished, it will ask you to reboot.
The first time you log in, a box should pop up asking to change your Windows password to match your Novell password. Say yes.
When your computer has loaded, you can verify a succesful Novell installation by opening "My Computer" and looking for your Stulocker and other network drives (Diagram 1).
