What is the Help Desk?

The Center for Information technology (CIT) Help Desk provides the first-level service for computer problems and questions for faculty and staff. Students should first contact their RCCs or visit the Technoogy Services Center located in the Academic Commons on the Main Level of Mudd Library for assistance. The Help Desk will provide an initial analysis and enter a work order for follow-on action by Client Services Support Analysts or Maintenance (hardware repair) Technicians. (In some cases, immediate problem resolution by Help Desk personnel may be possible.)

In addition to this support the Help Desk takes care of receiving password change requests (both for e-mail and netware) and processing them.

The Help Desk is staffed by one full-time Help Desk Coordinator (regular staff), augmented by highly-trained and dedicated student Help Desk Consultants during the academic year and summer.
